For large companies being innovative, having an agile approach to innovation so that new products or services get to market quickly, can be a real challenge. This article proves that it can be done.

In 2012 Corning Glass transformed how they approached innovation and new product development. Their original model, a five-stage innovation model of—research, applied research, development, scale-up, and production, all in sequence, had served them well and produced relatively fail safe products. The down side was that it was slow and so from 2012 Corning Glass began taking an agile approach.
